Cleaning Workstations

For efficient operation the workstation grid plate will need regular cleaning of accumulated glass fibers and debris. This grid plate cleaning process takes only a minute or two.

Workstation cleaning frequency depends on how much material is being cleaned and how many workers are using the stations. For normal operations usually every four weeks is sufficient to keep the SURFASOLVE™ operating efficiently. For smaller operations usually cleaning every two to three months is satisfactory.

Cleaning out a work station usually takes approximately ten minutes. The only materials needed to clean the work station are a 55 gallon drum, 5 gal pail, and a filter to accomplish the task. These filters are available from us.

Please follow these simple steps for properly maintaining the work station.

For Grid Plate Cleaning:
1.) Remove the workstation grid plate by unscrewing wing nuts; keep the grid plate in the work station on its side.
2.) Gently clean glass fibers and debris from grid inside of workstation.
3.) Place grid in original position and screw wing nuts back on.
Work Station Cleaning:
1.) Take off grid plate and set aside.
2.) Put 600 micron filter on top of filter drum.
3.) Using a 5 gallon pail., remove the SURFASOLVE™ and pour over the filter. There will be polymerized  resin and debris at the bottom of the workstation. Continue to remove all the debris  and pour on top of filter and completely clean out workstation.
4.) Let filtered material remain on top of drum for a little while if possible, this will allow all the SURFASOLVE™ to filter out debris.
5.) Refill work station with filtered SURFASOLVE™ and top off with fresh material to bring solution three inches above grid plate.
* If the SURFASOLVE™ viscosity is high or think it will be necessary to add two parts fresh SURFASOLVE™ to one part of old SURFASOLVE™. This will keep the SURFASOLVE™ working like new again and allow the resin to floc back out. Put the old SURFASOLVE™ back into the flock tank for future use. If this procedure is not followed the SURFASOLVE™ could completely gel into a solid.
